The Commonwealth is an official correspondence chapter of Starfleet The International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc. We are located in Region one in the state of Tennesee. We are a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to uniting fans of science fiction and fantasy of all themes.
Is to unite the many fans of science fiction and fantasy, to serve the Commonwealth and the fleet to our best abilities, And to be the best human beings that we ourselves can be while striving for the vision of unity that the late Gene Roddenberry depicted in his Star Trek® Universe.
Our Vessel, Our Mother ship, And the Grandmother of us
Our classification is that of the intrepid class starship from the Star Trek series “Voyager” Our registry number is NCC 74670 and our Commanding Officer is Colonel Tracy Lilly; our homeport is Clarksville, TN. Our past Commanding Officer is Commodore (Retired) James Cecil.
Our first mother ship back in 2004 was the USS WASP NCC-1721 it was a correspondence chapter of Starfleet, is Sovereign class starship from the Star Trek movies of First Contact, Insurrection, and the Nemesis. The USS WASP home port was Shelbyville, KY. and was under the command of Fleet Captain Shawn D. Fields.
Our first Grandmother ship was is the USS Maat NCC –179-A of the Ambassador Class starship. The Maat is meeting chapter of Starfleet and its home port is Virginia Beach, VA. Commodore Tammy Wilcox was the Commanding Officer of the USS Maat.
The Commonwealth Seal
A name has many meanings
Our name shares a three part theme to it. First and foremost it is in honor of those men and women who are serving on board the SSBN 737 USS Kentucky. Secondly to honor the Commonwealth of Kentucky itself, and Thirdly to honor the late Gene Roddenberry for giving us the Andromeda TV show and to the cast and crew of Andromeda.

Who Runs The Commonwealth?
Article 2, Section 1,1 of our Constitution defines the governing body of the USS Commonwealth as the Executive Committee who are composed of the Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, and Operations Officer. Section 2 of Article 2 defines the Advisory Counsel as the Department Heads compose of Communications, Science, Security, Engineering, and Ship Stores. Section 3 of Article 2 defines the Judicial Body of the USS Commonwealth as being 12 members appointed by the Commanding Officer from the USS Commonwealth Membership.

To Be a Departmental Chief
Should you wish to be in charge of a department on board the USS Commonwealth you must be a member in good standing in Starfleet, have taken and passed the Officers Training Course and Officers Command College from Starfleet Academy. Both of these are optional but is recommended if one wants to pursue other avenues with in the STARFLEET or wish to be Commanding Officer and Executive Officer of the USS Commonwealth.
Rights And Responsibilities
I. All members shall receive a membership packet per annual membership.
II. All members shall receive the official USS Commonwealth bi-monthly newsletter publication,INTERCOM.
III. All members have the right to transfer from one chapter to another. The Individual(s) must obtain permission from both Commanding Officers.
IV. All members have the right to engage in all USS Commonwealth activities. This includes the right to part take in the fictional ranks as presented to us from the Star Trek universe.
V. All members have the right to attend STARFLEET Academy.
VI. All members have the right to apply for any shipboard, STARFLEET, or Region One position he or she feels they are justifiably qualified for.
VII. All Members have the right to due process.
VIII. All members have the right for all opinions, as well as sides, of an issue to be heard before any judgment is rendered.
IX. All members have the right to appeal all judgments to the Regional Coordinator of Region One.
X. All member have the right to informed of any available shipboard , STARFLEET, and Region One position as well as the application process for the available position.
XI. All members have the right to have fun.
Code of Conduct
I. Members will always behave in a manner that brings credit to the USS Commonwealth, Region One, STARFLEET, and to themselves.
II. Members will always praise in public and critique in private.
III. Members will show courtesy to their subordinates, fellow officers, and superior officers at all times.
IV. Members will never assume, but always verify.
V. Members will be resolute in the performance of their duties and execution of USS Commonwealth, STARFLET, Regional One policies and regulations.
VI. Members will always diffuse confrontation, not cause them.
VII. Members will listen to both sides of a dispute and act upon fact, not innuendo.
VIII. Members will strive for impartiality and fairness in judgment and disqualify themselves from decisions where their judgment may be compromised.
IX. Members will be the first to praise and the last to criticize.
X. Members will always strive to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
Rank and Advancement
Fictional ranks shall be awarded to the members of the USS Commonwealth. These ranks alone do not give any member authority over another member in the organization or that of STARFLEET and its subsidiaries. Only the Commanding Officer can bestow the ranks of Crewman Recruit to Commander. Ranks beyond Commander are subject to approval from the Commander of STARFLEET. Promotions are awarded for service, participation in activities, as a reward for a job well done, and for increased responsibilities within the USS Commonwealth. Promotions will be made for only one rank at a time and must be documented and recorded by both the Operations Officer of the Commonwealth. Final promotion authority ultimately resides with the Commanding Officer of the Commonwealth while ranks above Commander resides within Starfleet's Executive Committee.
